Anchors aweigh . . .

a familiar call as ships in bygone days set off for yet another exciting adventure on the high seas.
There was little or nothing to gain if the vessel sat safely in the harbor. To fulfil it’s intended purpose, it had to let go, leave the harbor, and travel to places unknown. Only out there was realizable potential.
So, it is for us. If we are to realize our potential, we need to let go. The truth is that what we already know will always get in the way of what we need to learn.
Values and beliefs have their role in our lives, but they serve as ballast and sea anchors at best. They can keep us on a stable, steady and predictable course, but they should never restrict our progress towards discovery and fulfillment.
Look to the beacon that is your purpose. Life, surely, will offer challenges but cannot prevent arrival at your destination. Be open to exploration, discover why you are here, and now!
This is creation’s gift to you. Go with it, follow the great course, and discover yourself. This then becomes your gift to creation.
This is Wisdom. Set your sails. Life is yours to discover.
